Terms and conditions

Brilliant Minds (hereinafter referred to as “BM” or the “Event”) is organized by Symposium Stockholm AB, a company duly organized under the laws of Sweden and with company registration number 559009-2341 (hereinafter referred to as “Symposium”, “us” or “we”). This document sets out the terms and conditions between Symposium and you and they apply when you purchase a ticket for BM (hereinafter referred to as the “Terms”). By purchasing a ticket to the Event you are agreeing to comply with and be bound by these Terms. You should read this document carefully before finalizing your ticket transaction. Symposium reserves the right to change the Terms at any time. Any amended Terms will be posted on Symposium’s website (www.symposium.co).
When you submit a purchase request through the Confetti ticket purchase system, this constitutes a binding purchase agreement between Symposium and you. You will receive an automatically generated confirmation and/or ticket. This confirmation should be kept for possible future reference. You must store the order confirmation securely and protect it against unauthorized access. 

PRICES
All prices indicated on the www.symposium.co website are excluding VAT. 

REFUND AND CANCELLATION POLICY
All purchases of tickets for BM are final and non-refundable in their entirety. However, it is possible to allocate the ticket to a third party if the ticket has been fully paid, subject always to Symposium’s prior approval. The contact details of the new participant shall be sent to contact@symposium.co no later than seven (7) days before the Event, after which time it is no longer possible to allocate the ticket to a third party. Symposium may, in its sole discretion, refuse to let you allocate your ticket to a third party. For the avoidance of doubt, Symposium will not be liable for the granting of any VISAs that are required to attend BM. In the event that an attendee’s VISA is not granted, tickets will not be refunded. 
The tickets purchased are for your own personal use or that of your business only and may not, without the prior written consent of Symposium, be resold or offered for resale (for example through on-line auctions or other unauthorised resale sites) or used for advertising, promotion or other commercial purposes (including competitions and trade promotions) or to enhance the demand for other goods or services. If a ticket is sold or used in breach of this condition, the ticket may be cancelled without a refund and the ticket holder may be refused admission to the Event. 

TERMS OF PAYMENT
Symposium uses Confetti Technology AB’s (“Confetti”) payment solution for electronic payment. Confetti is a Swedish company with company registration number 556964-6465 and having its registered address at Ripstigen 3, 170 74 Solna. The following methods of payment are available: Credit cards (Visa, MasterCard and American Express). Your payment is secured by Confetti which uses SSL encryption to protect your details. SSL, or Secure Sockets Layer, is an industry standard to protect e-commerce transactions. Your card number is transmitted in a secure manner directly to your bank, Symposium does not have any direct or indirect access to your card or bank account. The parties of the transaction are you and Confetti. Consequently, Confetti is responsible for all related obligations. 
You hereby acknowledge that in addition to these Terms, Confetti’s terms and conditions apply to your purchase of tickets for BM.

BRACELET PICK-UP
Prior to the Event, you will get a QR code sent via email and SMS to the email address and mobile phone number that you stated on your registration form. You must bring this code to the Event, where you will receive a bracelet indicating that you are a registered attendee of BM. Please note that the order confirmation that you receive upon registration does not grant access to the Event. The bracelet pick-up locations and opening hours will be communicated on the symposium.co website and by email at least 2 weeks prior to the Event. When picking up the bracelet, you must show the QR code provided by e-mail or SMS as well as a valid ID with a picture. 
EVENT CANCELLATION, POSTPONEMENT & SUBSTITUTION POLICY
Symposium, its affiliates, representatives, officers, employees and partners is not responsible for any loss or damage (whether direct or indirect) as a result of a substitution, alteration, cancellation or postponement of BM or parts thereof. Symposium reserves the right to make changes to the date and time for all parts of the Event. In the case of rescheduling the Event, you may return your ticket by a deadline to be determined by Symposium and communicated on the symposium.co website. After the deadline has expired, any claims for reimbursement will expire. Symposium is not liable for any other expenses incurred by you or a third party in connection with the Event. Please note that while locations, speakers and topics are confirmed at the time of publishing, circumstances beyond the control of Symposium may necessitate substitutions, alterations or cancellations of the locations, speakers and/or topics. As such, Symposium reserves the right to alter or modify the advertised locations, speakers and/or topics if necessary without any liability to you whatsoever. For the avoidance of doubt, any substitutions, alterations or cancellations of locations, speakers and/or topics for the Event does not entitle you to return your ticket. Any substitutions or alterations will be updated on our web page as soon as practically possible.

LIABILITY
TO THE EXTENT NOT PROHIBITED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL SYMPOSIUM, ITS AFFILIATES, REPRESENTATIVES, OFFICERS OR EMPLOYEES BE LIABLE FOR PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH, OR ANY INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, INDIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, OR ANY OTHER PERSONAL COMMERCIAL DAMAGES OR LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR PURCHASE OF A TICKET TO AND/OR PARTICIPATION AT THE EVENT, HOWEVER CAUSED, REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY (CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE) AND EVEN IF SYMPOSIUM, ITS AFFILIATES, REPRESENTATIVES, OFFICERS OR EMPLOYEES AS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATION OF LIABILITY FOR PERSONAL INJURY, OR OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THIS LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. 

You must obtain and provide your own accident and property insurance. Symposium will not be responsible for any tickets or other property that are lost or stolen during the Event.

AGE LIMIT
You must be at least 18 years of age to attend the Event.

SAFETY
You are not allowed to bring weapons, fireworks or illegal substances to the Event. Symposium reserves the right to request that you show photo ID and to inspect any bags, cases and similar that you are bringing to the Event before admitting you to the Event. 
Symposium reserves the right to refuse admission to any Event or conference for any behavior, which it deems unacceptable, or for breach of these Terms.

PRIVACY
You hereby consent to Symposium’s collection, processing and use of your personal data (including but not limited to your name, email address, phone number, credit card details, etc.) for the purposes herein. The personal data collected will be used for the purposes of processing ticket sales, managing your participation at the Event, compiling lists of attendees, for statistical purposed and for providing you with information on the Event or upcoming events organized by Symposium. We will not process your personal data for any other purposes and will not share your personal data with third parties, except for such third parties who are our affiliates and our partners for the Event and solely for the purpose of performing the Event. We will not keep your information longer than necessary. In accordance with statutory law, you are entitled to request and receive free of charge a statement of any personal data about you that we are processing.
By providing information hereunder, you consent to the publication of your name on the list of Event attendees, which will be published on our websites and across any relevant online portals, websites or platforms and circulated by email to our email database which include all past and current participants. If you do not wish your name to appear on the list of attendees, please email contact@symposium.co.
Symposium will have cameras recording video, audio and still photos during the Event. By purchasing a ticket to BM, you consent to such recording and Symposium’s use of such material for any purpose (including but not limited to marketing), in any media and on any platform. Symposium has full ownership of such material and may assign or license the rights in and to such material to a third party.
You are not permitted to make audio or video recordings during the Event. However, you are welcome to take photographs during the Event.

FORCE MAJEURE
If the Event is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances and is not rescheduled, including but not limited to fires, explosions, war, riots, strikes, lock-outs and acts of terrorism (force majeure), you will be refunded the price of the ticket upon proof of payment. Symposium is not liable for any other expenses incurred by you or a third party. Symposium shall notify its customers of any force majeure event as soon as practically possible.

When purchasing a ticket to BM, you are offered to purchase tickets for other events (e.g. Summerburst) and to book accommodation. These events and services are provided by third parties and Symposium is not responsible for the provision of such services. You acknowledge that these third party service providers may have their own terms and conditions, which you undertake to adhere to.

GOVERNING LAW
These Terms are governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of Sweden, without reference to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes or controversy arising in connection herewith shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Swedish courts.
